Dr. John K. Hackbarth (Dr. H)

Dr. Hackbarth earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree
in 1976 from the University of Texas Dental School at Houston. Since
that time, he has dedicated himself to lifelong learning and continuing
dental education. Among his activities:
- Past President of the Society for Advanced Microdentistry
- Publications Editor for the Society of Occlusal Studies
- Associate of the Texas Institute of Advanced Dental Sciences
- Member of the American Orthodontic Society
- Member of the American Equilibration Society, the largest organization
in the world dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases
of dental occlusion (bite problems) and temporomandibular joint
(TMJ) disorders
In addition to continued formal training, Dr. Hackbarth seeks out
other experts for hands-on experience, such as assisting surgeons
to refine his own surgical techniques, and even studying with physical
therapists to learn more about dental-related breathing problems.
He is also committed to educating patients, having authored more
than 100 columns for the Galveston Daily News and Texas City Sun.

Dr. Hackbarth and wife JoAnn live in Texas City with their two children, ranging in age from 16 to 22. They are both Texas
natives, each having ancestors that date back to the days of the
Texas Republic. While they enjoy traveling, they are proud to
call
Texas home. Dr. Hackbarth enjoys spending time with his wife and
family, whether it be traveling, shopping, working in the yard,
and walking or biking through the parks of Texas City. He is also
a gourmet chef who loves to create new dishes. (Ask him about his
jalapeno creme sauce on fresh red fish.....delicious!)
Dr. Hackbarth spends extended time traveling and teaching his peers. His most recent teaching events have involved Invisalign, and teaching his peers form across the country how to implement new strategies with Invisalign and related cosmetic cases to achieve incredible results.
JoAnn works in the dental office with book keeping, staff relations,
and customer relations at the office. Patients rave over the chocolate
chip cookies she makes daily to set out in our waiting room for
patients and visitors. In her spare time she enjoys decorating
both
at home and at the dental office (our patients who have been with
us a number of years have noticed the "extreme makeover"
she has given our office over the past couple of years).
