Health, definition of: physical and mental well-being; soundness;
freedom from defect, pain or disease. (Webster's New Universal
Unabridged Dictionary)
There's the definition. How do you fit into the "picture of health"?
It's an obvious fact that your mouth and teeth are essential to your
overall health, but let's limit this discussion to your oral health.
Is your mouth free from defect, pain, disease? Does something hurt--even
just a little bit now and then? Are you missing teeth? Are your teeth
crooked. Do you bite and chew well? Are your teeth unsightly? Do your
gums sometimes bleed? (All bleeding is abnormal except for menstrual cycles.)
Do you have bad breath? Do you have decay? Leaking fillings? Broken teeth?
Any of these things are a degrade to your oral health. Poor oral health
is damaging to your overall health and well being.
Are you putting off handling your oral health? What do you think will
be the result of unhandled pain, disease, or defect?
Every sane person wants to be happy and enjoy life. Your body is the
vehicle that you drive through this life. Why have one that is less than
whole.
I am a dentist. It is my life's work to help you have a healthy mouth
and teeth. Shouldn't you be the "picture of health"?
