Texas City’s Own “Boys of Summer”
All of us at the Dental Cosmetic Center-Bay Area are anxiously awaiting
the arrival of the Bay Area Toros semi-professional baseball team. They will
be playing teams from Corpus Christi, Texarkana, and McKinney with opening
day on Friday, May 23. Games will be played at Texas City’s Robinson
Stadium. Plan to come out and support the “boys” and try out
a fresh, exciting idea for your family time or date night right here in town.
For more information and to get your own game schedule for the Bay Area Toros,

News in the News
Dr. Hackbarth is now writing for the local newspaper, The Post. (It’s
that one they deliver to your house for free.) “Dental Health Update” is
intended to help the community better understand dentistry and to answer
any dental questions submitted. The first one was published in the
Wednesday, April 30 issue and they should run about every two weeks.
Keep an eye out for it and send in any questions that you have about dentistry.
You may get to see your own name in print.
Meet Our Staff
Dr. Rudy Fulton, DDS – Dental Cosmetic Center-Bay
Area is so very proud to announce the addition of our new associate,
Dr. Fulton. He has been practicing dentistry, as well as teaching at the
University of Texas Dental School in Houston for many years. He recently
moved to Mississippi where he taught at a dental school as well, staying
educated and up to date on the latest developments in dental technology for
general and cosmetic procedures. This past year, he and his wife returned
to the area to spend more time with his precious grandchildren, who live
nearby, making it convenient for him to jump on board with us! Please join
us in welcoming him to the Bay Area.
He will be available on weekdays as well as Saturdays for your convenience. If you are one of those who have been waiting for Saturday appointments, now is your chance! Jump on it! Thanks, Dr. Fulton!
Sounds of the Season
Spring is here! It’s noisy outside the back door of Dental Cosmetic
Center-Bay Area for the sounds coming from the babies in the bushes. Two
fair-sized, neatly formed nests made of a few twigs, but mostly, get this…our
office-shredding, lie just out of reach. Based on their origami-style homes,
they could possibly be some Japanese breed. Not really. Mockingbirds are
the ones who attack the staff when carrying out the garbage, so it must be
them protecting their young.
We are happy to welcome our little friends. It is a wonderful contrast to
the stray pit bull that Stephanie encountered outside the back door a couple
of weeks ago. But we won’t talk about that.
Mother’s Day Idea
Give that deserving mom in your life a whiter brighter smile this year.
It is a gift that will change her life dramatically and last a very long
time. Dental Cosmetic Center –Bay Area has a special offer running
right now on BriteSmile treatments that are performed in one simple visit
to our office. Mom is the one who makes everyone feel good about themselves.
Your gift to her this year will be a lasting one that will make her look
and feel like a new person! Surprise her with an appointment.
Keeping it Clean
Toothbrushes are typically stored in the bathroom where many germs and bacteria
could easily be transferred. Here are some tips and tricks that can help
avoid it.
- Be mindful of the area where your toothbrush is stored. Do not place it touching someone else’s toothbrush and set it as far away from the toilet area as possible.
- Keep replacement toothbrushes on hand for guests and easy trade-out if you question the hygiene of your toothbrush at any time.
- Simply rinse your toothbrush out before and after brushing with your antibacterial mouthwash.
High-Tech Toothbrush
Crest/Oral B now offers an innovative power toothbrush that is getting
raving reviews from dental hygienists that have tried it out. Claims are
that the new Oral B-Triumph helps to put people on their “best brushing
behavior” and is the only brushing system that visibly guides us to
promote better at-home brushing. Its stand-alone SmartGuide includes
a timer, a pressure sensor alert, four brushing modes, and a brush head
replacement indicator. It is definitely worth a look and offered at a discounted
price off suggested retail online at www.dentalcare.com.
Check it out!
