Innovative Dental Technology
Dr. Hackbarth has always been on the leading edge of technology. For example, he was one of the first dentists in the U.S. to use bonded porcelain veneers. But he believes firmly that it's the intelligent application of technology that allows it to be a great tool instead of just an "expensive toy."
We have incorporated many high-tech dental tools to enhance your experience. Learn more about these exciting innovations here:
We also equip our treatment rooms with chairside computer monitors so that we can quickly access digital information and share it with you. Our digital camera captures before and after photos for your file, as well. And we want you to feel confident in your decisions about dental care, so our CAESY patient education program is always available to you. Watch short videos about procedures to understand our treatment recommendations, and you'll have the information you need to make wise decisions.
Oral Conscious Sedation & Nitrous Oxide
Your comfort is a great concern to us. Dr. Hackbarth offers nitrous oxide (laughing gas) as well as oral conscious sedation (nitrous + oral sedative) to ensure your optimal comfort during dental procedures. Please tell us about your concerns. Many patients avoid the vital dental work they need because of fear. If this describes you, let us know. Today's sedation options can free your mind to allow you to get the dental work you need – and deserve!
Nitrous oxide is a gas administered through a mask. You'll sit back in the dental chair, breath in the gas, and fall into an alert state of relaxation. The effects of nitrous oxide subside shortly after dental work is completed, so you can return to work or regular activities the same day.
Oral conscious sedation is a more potent method of allaying fear, anxiety, and stress. Dr. Hackbarth will prescribe you an anxiety-reducing drug to take before your visit. At the appointment, you'll relax in the dental chair. We may administer nitrous oxide at this point. Rest assured, we will monitor your vital signs and keep you safe and comfortable during your visit. Oral conscious sedation also works well for patients who need to have many hours of dental work performed in one visit. After your appointment, you'll need a ride home because the sedative effects will last for a while. The following day, you can return to normal activities. Many patients have little or no memory of the previous day's dental visit.
Our dental office is located in Texas City, and we serve patients from surrounding areas with comprehensive general dentistry. Call today to schedule appointments for everyone in your family.
